To remove the optical module, first unplug the fiber jumper, then flip open the pull-tab on the module and pull it out horizontally. Doing so may damage the module or deform the host's internal locking spring, affecting future module. However, with the right approach and careful handling, you can safely remove a transceiver stuck in a switch without causing damage to your network equipment. #opticalmodule #networkingProtect your SFP or SFP+ modules by inserting clean dust plugs into them after the fiber cables are removed, and be sure to clean the optic surfaces of the fiber cables before you plug them back into the optical bores of an SFP or SFP+ module.
