This paper introduces a new bidirectional integration approach that combines fiber sensor/free space optics (FSO) communication using an intensity and wavelength division multiplexer (IWDM) techniques-based long-distance fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor strain-sensing. This is the power of fiber optic sensing, a technology that transforms ordinary optical fibers into the digital world's sensory network. FSI sensors have been successfully deployed on fences and alongside physical data networks at the most critical sites in the world. It can be used for detecting pipelines, utility tunnels, tracks, fences, water areas, and gas.
